Responsibilities
This position is a general labor position and is responsible for using a forklift to move finished product around the facility . It may also include the use of a pallet jack to load and unload materials and finished goods . The position will include loading and unloading trucks , warehouse maintenance and housekeeping and completion of daily paperwork . This position will work with Operations to ensure they receive the products and materials needed to keep the production lines running.
- Safety 1 st , follow all safety requirements including wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as prescribed for each work activity or job.
- Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions/safety concerns and injuries immediately to the Shift Lead, Supervisor, Operations Manager or HR.
- Meet performance requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Drive stand-up forklift/walkie truck.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
- Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
- Marks materials with identifying information.
- Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
- Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Uses computer to enter records.
- Inventory management
- All other duties assigned
