About the job

As the Director of Strategic Partnerships, you will own our marquee relationships, turn them into brand moments, and turn those moments into new business. Our partner roster now includes the SETI Institute, the Georgetown angel investor network, and Magic Bus. These relationships deserve a dedicated owner: someone who keeps them active, builds programming around them, and uses them to open doors with clients, prospects, and future partners. This is a builder role. You will inherit a strong starting roster, then grow it by forging partnerships of your own. As a premier consulting and technology firm, alliant is focused on providing solutions to help businesses transform and thrive, while serving as their ongoing growth partner. Key Responsibilities • Serve as alliant’s primary point of contact for existing partners, developing tailored engagement plans, maintaining regular touchpoints, strengthening leadership connections, along with tracking commitments, renewals, and sponsorship obligations. • Establish and maintain relationships with key contacts across the existing partner portfolio, documenting stakeholder roles, commitments, engagement history, and opportunities for continued collaboration. • Develop and manage a 12-month partnership strategy, engagement calendar, and budget aligned with organizational priorities. • Develop and execute partner programming, events, and co-branded content, including roundtables, speaker series, webinars, articles, and joint announcements, to increase engagement and strengthen alliant’s brand presence. • Establish scalable, recurring partner programming and thought leadership opportunities that encourage sustained client and prospect engagement. • Partner with Marketing to amplify partnerships through social media, public relations, client communications, and other relevant channels. • Represent alliant at partner events, industry conferences, and community gatherings to strengthen relationships, build brand awareness, and identify potential opportunities. • Leverage partner networks, events, and relationships to identify and develop qualified business opportunities among clients, prospects, founders, portfolio companies, and innovators. • Collaborate with sales and consulting teams to transition qualified opportunities, monitor progress, and maintain visibility into partnership-sourced business. • Develop and maintain a measurable pipeline of qualified business opportunities sourced through partner relationships, networks, events, and programming. • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective partners across innovation, science, investing, education, and social impact, evaluating each opportunity for strategic fit and potential value. • Lead the development of new partnerships from initial outreach and proposal through negotiation, launch, and ongoing activation, ensuring alignment with alliant’s brand and growth priorities. • Expand the partnership portfolio by identifying, negotiating, and launching new relationships aligned with alliant’s strategic and growth priorities. • Define and monitor measures of partnership effectiveness, including engagement, brand reach, partner commitments, program participation, and partnership-sourced business opportunities. • Provide regular updates to leadership on partnership performance, upcoming initiatives, budget status, pipeline development, and recommended actions. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field is required. • 7+ years in partnerships, business development, community building, or client relationship roles • Experience in professional services, consulting, venture, or innovation ecosystems is preferred. • Proven track record of building partnerships from scratch, not only managing existing ones • Experience planning and hosting events, from intimate dinners to large thought leadership programs • Executive presence and comfort engaging founders, investors, scientists, and nonprofit leaders • Strong writing and presentation skills • Self-directed: you set the agenda, follow through, and show results • Established existing network in startups, angel investing, research, or social impact is preferred. • Experience with tying brand and events to revenue outcomes is preferred. • High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities. • Receptiveness to performance feedback within a team environment is essential. • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. • Candidate must reside in or relocate to Houston, TX. alliant offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including 100% employer paid medical /dental premiums for single coverage for certain options, 401(k) matching, PTO, company provided life insurance and disability, onsite gym and group exercise classes, paid covered parking, and more!
