Job Title: CNC Operator & Setter Department: Production / Manufacturing Industry: CNC Machining / Precision Engineering

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled CNC Operator & Setter responsible for machine setup, tool setting, program loading, component machining, and quality inspection. The candidate should have practical knowledge of CNC turning or milling machines and the ability to meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and set CNC machines such as CNC turning centres and CNC lathes.

Perform machine setup, job loading, tool setting, and workpiece alignment.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.

Understand and modify CNC programs using G-codes and M-codes.

Work with CNC controllers such as FANUC and Siemens, as applicable.

Perform turning, facing, grooving, threading, chamfering, and drilling operations.

Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and machining parameters.

Measure components using vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measuring instruments.

Conduct first-piece inspection and routine quality checks.

Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and dimensional variations.

Maintain machine cleanliness, follow safety procedures, and achieve production targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience preferred.

Experience in CNC machine operation and setting.

Knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, and measuring instruments.

Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.

Ability to identify and resolve basic machining problems.

Experience

Fresher to experienced candidates may apply, depending on the company's requirements.

Practical CNC setting and programming experience will be an advantage.
