Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Operator with hands-on experience in FANUC-controlled CNC lathes and heavy-duty machining. The candidate should be capable of machining large and heavy components used in the Oil & Gas, drilling tools and industrial manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Operate FANUC-controlled CNC lathe machines for heavy-duty machining.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances and machining instructions.
Perform turning, facing, boring, grooving, threading and other machining operations.
Handle heavy components and jobs requiring precision machining.
Select suitable cutting tools, inserts, speeds and feeds.
Perform component setting, tool offset adjustments and basic program corrections.
Inspect machined components using vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges and other measuring instruments.
Maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish and production quality.
Follow machine safety procedures and maintain proper housekeeping.
Coordinate with the CNC programmer, job setter and QC team to meet production targets.
Required Skills
Practical experience operating FANUC CNC controls.
Experience in heavy-duty turning and machining of large metal components.
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand machining tolerances.
Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, tool offsets and machining parameters.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
Ability to work independently and achieve production targets.
Preferred Experience
Experience in machining oilfield tools, drilling components, shafts, housings, threaded components or other heavy engineering parts will be an advantage.
