Key Responsibilities • Operating Room Preparation: • Set up and prepare the operating room for CTVS procedures, including assembling surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies. • Ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are sterilized and in working order. • Assist in positioning the patient and preparing the surgical site. • Surgical Assistance: • Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures. • Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols. • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist as directed. • Equipment Management: • Operate and maintain surgical equipment, such as suction devices, electrocautery units, and surgical lights. • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed. • Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials. • Patient Care Support: • Assist in transferring patients to and from the operating room. • Monitor patient vital signs and assist with anesthesia induction and emergence. • Provide post-operative care and transport patients to recovery areas. • Documentation and Communication: • Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, equipment usage, and patient information. • Communicate effectively with the surgical team, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Education Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a surgical technology program or relevant training preferred. • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) may be required. • Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.
