Key Responsibilities • Diagnose and treat mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance abuse disorders. • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medication. • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess the mental health condition and needs of patients. • Provide psychotherapy and counsel patients on mental health, behavioral issues, and lifestyle adjustments. • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychologists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to provide a holistic approach to patient care. • Monitor and document patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Education Qualifications • A Medical Degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with a specialization in psychiatry. • Completion of a psychiatric residency program. • Board certification in psychiatry. • State medical license to practice psychiatry.
