Key Responsibilities • Patient Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients presenting with GI symptoms, including reviewing medical history and performing physical examinations. • Diagnostic Testing: Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and endoscopic procedures, to identify diseases and conditions of the GI tract. • Treatment Planning: Develop and manage comprehensive treatment plans for patients with GI disorders, which may include medication, dietary modifications, and in some cases, referral for surgery. • Procedure Performance: Perform endoscopic procedures, such as colonoscopies, gastroscopies, and advanced therapeutic endoscopy, for diagnostic and treatment purposes. • Patient Education and Counseling: Provide patients with information about their condition, treatment options, and preventive care measures to manage their health effectively. • Research and Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing education and research to stay abreast of advances in gastroenterology and improve patient care. Education Qualifications • Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of an internal medicine residency followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology. • Licensure and Certification: Board certification in gastroenterology and a valid state medical license. • Experience: Clinical experience in gastroenterology, including proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures.
