Key Responsibilities • Test Administration: Conduct and assist with cardiovascular tests such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), exercise stress tests, and ambulatory monitoring, ensuring patient safety and comfort. • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain cardiology equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure that all devices are calibrated and functioning correctly. • Patient Preparation and Follow-Up: Prepare patients for procedures, explain test processes, and provide follow-up care instructions, ensuring a clear understanding and minimizing anxiety. • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze test data, prepare reports for cardiologists, and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients. • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest cardiology techniques, technologies, and best practices through continuing education and professional development opportunities. Education Qualifications • Associate degree or higher in cardiovascular technology, or related field, from an accredited program. • Certification as a Cardiovascular Technician (e.g., Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)) is preferred. • Experience in a cardiology department or clinic is highly advantageous. • Proficiency in using various types of cardiology equipment and software. • Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
