Security Engineer

About the company Our client is a fast-growing technology company. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join as an early security hire and take broad responsibility for protecting cloud-hosted production systems. You will work inside an infrastructure-focused engineering group, building monitoring and incident response capability and helping set sensible security defaults as the business grows. What you'll do - Take charge of the protection of cloud-hosted environments and the hosting services around them. - Share the workload of the existing senior security engineer by absorbing infrastructure-related duties. - Design and maintain the way credentials, secrets and permissions are managed across every service. - Build threat detection and incident response tooling, including log analysis and automated response workflows. - Work with software engineers to make safe configuration the default, covering identity permissions, network isolation and container orchestration controls. Requirements What we're looking for - 4+ years in a hands-on security or infrastructure-oriented engineering role, such as cloud security, security operations, platform work or DevSecOps. - Background at respected technology companies or startups. - A degree in a technical or scientific field. - A track record of owning security outcomes for infrastructure end to end. - Practical experience securing container orchestration environments, including access controls, policy enforcement and sensitive-data handling. - Experience setting up and maintaining security settings across cloud environments. - Ability to work on-site five days a week at the stated location. Bonus points - Prior experience as the lone or lead security practitioner at a small organization. Benefits Compensation and benefits - Base salary: USD 215,000 to 285,000 per year Location and work model - New York, NY, United States - On-site, 5 days per week in the office - Full-time
