Job Summary

Job Description The Fuel Mechanic will perform maintenance and mechanical repair work as assigned in the various shops/areas located at the lignite strip mine facilities. Areas include and not limited to the rolling stock maintenance shop, assembly-line preventive maintenance shop (ALPM), and Railroad shop. Duties of a Fuel Mechanic may include: inspect/troubleshoot; change oil/filters, cutting blades/edges and major components (engines, transmissions, undercarriage, etc) on large motorized equipment; perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on excavators, loading equipment, electric and diesel powered locomotives, railroad cars, and hauling equipment.
