Description This role will be onsite at our Easton Oval office in Columbus, OH.
Summary: The Sr Manager - Virtualization Engineering will manage the activities of IT Operations and Infrastructure Services teams through staff and/or subordinate managers and supervisors. This individual will be responsible for VMWare cloud foundation and virtual desktop infrastructure as well as automation engineering for virtualization platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops strategic direction for present and future IT services
- Participates in strategic planning with IT senior management and with business leaders
- Plans and manages complex and strategic enterprise-wide projects.
- Responsible for ensuring that availability SLAs are met, failed customer interactions (FCIs) are minimized, and technology currency is maintained for supported systems
- Oversees the planning, scheduling, assignment and monitoring of staff and resources for assigned areas of responsibility
- Develops and maintains processes to ensure ongoing support for responsible systems
- Maintains fiscal accountability and is responsible for financial budgets
- Maintains a high level of technical expertise related to assigned departmental functions and stays current in technical enhancements, methodologies and trends that particularly apply to Huntington
- Performs other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or 4+ additional years of experience in IT infrastructure
- 10+ years of related experience in client and server infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated technical competence and ability to stay current with changing industry trends
- Demonstrated use of standards, policies, and best practices within the server and desktop virtualization
- Strong vendor management including vendor negotiation skills
- Experience with deployment and system build automation
- Ability to initiate new efforts through requirements gathering and drive the team to completion
- Ability and drive to implement continuous process improvements
- Strong Project Management experience
- Results driven, ensuring short-term goals are achieved while supporting long-term initiatives with an appropriate sense of urgency
- Strong technology skills with the ability to produce relevant information from teams and make critical decisions
- Management and leadership skills to attract, retain, and motivate high talent professionals
- Excellent ability to motivate and influence a cross functional team to perform above normal expectations
- Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Experience in the financial industry desirable.
- Experience with the IT PMO and other technical and application teams on the estimation, budgeting, accounting and other requirements related to project delivery
- Proven methodical approach to problem identification, problem solving and resolution using analytics and diagnostics in a timely manner
- Strong technology skills with the ability to produce relevant information from teams and make critical decisions
- Great Aptitude for technology and demonstrated independent knowledge
