Responsibilities

Granite Hills Hospital is located in West Allis, Wisconsin, and is proud to serve the community with mental and behavioral health care services for teens and adults. Our new 120-bed facility features evidence-based treatment modalities and a multi-disciplinary team led by medical professionals. The 120 beds are split into five groups of 24 with enclosed outdoor spaces to promote healing. The welcoming, open environment is designed to help individuals grow and take steps forward on their journey to a healthier, happier life.

Internship Experience : (Student will gain knowledge and experience in the following areas)

• Develop & implement a broad range of therapeutic and diversional recreation services and programs. • Manage caseload, conducting assessments, developing and implementing appropriate intervention plans, documenting and evaluating outcomes, and goal writing. Actively participates in planning and coordinating treatment goals with interdisciplinary team members. • Compliance with documentation guidelines and deadlines. • Develops treatment protocols, and other supportive tasks as assigned. • Creates and maintains a safe and positive environment for participants. • Completes internship requirements toward preparing to take the certification exam for CTRS. • Attends in-services, training and staff meetings. Provide in-service training as assigned. • Commits to upholding in action and in deed, the service Excellence ideals of the agency and the department. • Develop and maintain an excellent rapport with patients, visitors and coworkers. • Carries out all other duties as assigned.
