Speech Language Pathologist - Per Diem Milstein/Allen Hospital Weekdays and Weekends Schedules - Day Flex Shift
At NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center our Speech-Language Pathologists help adult patients experiencing serious impairments to connect with the world around them. Under the supervision of the Manager of Speech-Language Pathology, you will work with adult and geriatric patients from the most acutely ill in our ICUs, acute care units and the inpatient rehabilitation unit. This position will be at the Milstein and Allen Hospital location.
This is a per-diem position for both weekdays and weekends. Must have some weekday availability and flexibility to work weekends — minimum of 2 shifts per month, and covering two holidays per year.
Preferred Criteria
- Experience assessing and treating medically complex adult patients, including ICU-level patients.
- Experience providing communication and dysphagia intervention for patients with tracheostomy.
- Competency performing Modified Barium Swallow Study and/or Flexible Endoscopy of Swallowing.
Required Criteria
• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Pathology Association.
- New York State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Adult experience in inpatient hospital setting.
- Experience in dysphagia evaluation/treatment.
