Senior Business Analyst – P&C InsuranceLocation: Farmington Hills, MI (Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite, Tuesday-Thursday) | Contract-to-HireOverviewOur client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead complex business analysis efforts, support production investigations, and drive system enhancements and process improvements. The ideal candidate brings strong property and casualty (P&C) insurance knowledge, excellent analytical and communication skills, and experience translating business needs into effective technology solutions. Guidewire Cloud experience is preferred.ResponsibilitiesPartner with business stakeholders to understand business needs, prioritize requests, and support project and release planning.Lead end-to-end analysis of complex business processes, systems, and data to identify improvement opportunities and recommend actionable solutions.Gather, document, and validate business requirements, functional specifications, business processes, data mappings, process flows, workflows, procedures, and system controls.Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.Investigate, triage, and troubleshoot production issues; perform root-cause analysis and coordinate resolution with development, QA, and operations teams.Use SQL to query and analyze data in support of production investigations and business problem-solving.Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, and test cases, leading system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).Support system integrations, process improvements, and the implementation of new tools and technologies.Monitor key performance indicators and assess the business impact of delivered solutions.Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and insurance subject matter experts.Support Agile delivery practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Provide guidance and mentorship to other analysts as needed.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience7+ years of professional business analysis experience, including complex, enterprise-level initiativesStrong knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry, particularly policy, claims, and billing processesProficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing data, including production troubleshooting and investigationExperience gathering requirements, developing functional specifications, documenting business processes, and supporting system implementations or enhancementsStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skillsExperience working across business and technical teams to deliver system solutionsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Guidewire CloudCBAP or PMI-PBA certification (strongly preferred)Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, and testing toolsFamiliarity with Tableau, Power BI, or other data analysis softwareExperience with Agile methodologies, particularly SAFeExperience with system integrations, data mapping, and process modelingPay rate: $55/hr. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position, hybrid (3 days/week onsite, Tuesday-Thursday) in Farmington Hills, MI. Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card holders.
