JOB PURPOSE
- Carelon Global Solutions India is seeking a QA Engineer I.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Perform end-to-end QA activities including requirement analysis, test planning, test case design, execution, and reporting.
- Validate data in Snowflake (tables, views, streams/tasks where applicable) and ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across sources and targets.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, root-cause analysis, and test data setup.
- Test ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations; validate business rules and data quality checks.
- Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing for data and application features.
- Perform backend/API validation as needed (if applicable to the project).
- Log, track, and manage defects in tools like JIRA (or equivalent) and drive them to closure with clear reproduction steps and evidence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and improve test coverage.
- Contribute to QA documentation: test strategy, test plans, traceability matrix, test summary reports.
- (Good to have) Support or build automation for regression/data validation using Python and/or automation frameworks.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE
- QA Engineer with 2+ years of hands-on experience in QA activities, with strong expertise in SQL and Snowflake testing/validation.
- You will work closely with data engineers, developers, and product stakeholders to ensure high-quality data pipelines, reports, and applications through robust test planning, execution, and defect management. Python and test automation experience are a plus.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- 2+ years of experience in QA/testing roles (manual and/or data QA).
- Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, window functions, aggregations, performance-minded querying).
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake: querying, validating datasets, understanding of Snowflake objects (tables/views/stages), and basic performance considerations.
- Solid understanding of SDLC/STLC, defect lifecycle, and QA best practices.
- Experience in data testing concepts: source-to-target validation, reconciliation, duplicate checks, null checks, referential integrity, and transformation validation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams.
