Job Description Our Patient Access department supports patients and families by providing accurate, timely, and compassionate registration services. Our Outpatient Registration team serves patients arriving for scheduled appointments and walk-in services, verifies demographic and insurance information, and obtains required compliance forms. We work closely with clinical departments to support a smooth patient experience while maintaining patient privacy, registration accuracy, and timely access to care. Role Overview As a Patient Registration Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. You'll handle patient registration, insurance verification, and cash collections, while advocating for patient needs. Your role is vital in creating a positive first impression and ensuring efficient operations for our clinical and non-clinical teams. - Greet and check in patients, ensuring a welcoming experience.
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect payments accurately.
- Update patient registration and insurance information in our systems.
- Respond to inquiries from callers and customers, advocating for their needs.
- Perform new patient registration and preregistration tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications Required:
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors.
- One (1) year of experience in patient admitting, registration, and/or insurance eligibility verification in a hospital or medical office setting.
- EPIC training/experience and familiarity with insurance payor systems.
