Provide operations leadership while establishing field management best practices for the quality and safety of inspection, repair and troubleshooting of cars and locomotives, helping to ensure equipment reliability and prevent line of road failures resulting in train stops. Conduct operational assessments and develop corrective action plans to ensure compliance with Association of American Railroads (AAR) rules, Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and CSXT company policies. Manage and direct car and locomotive improvement projects, process implementations, information management, standardized work practices and other initiatives supporting departmental and regional goals. Provide oversight of specialized equipment and multi-level fleet programs, including repair and disposition decisions, Rule 88 re-certification, financial and fleet reporting, shop performance, equipment flow, industry governance & compliance activities.
