Mercy is hiring Patient Care Associates to support patient care across multiple inpatient units, including Cardiac, General Surgery, Med/Tele, Neuro, Observation, Oncology, and Orthopedics. Openings are reviewed on an ongoing basis as unit needs arise. Position Details:

What You’ll Do Patient Care Associate (PCA):
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Assist patients with daily care needs including meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, and transport
- Provide clerical and unit support as needed
Patient Care Technician (PCT): (Includes PCA duties, plus additional skills)
- Phlebotomy and blood cultures
- Enteral feeding and wound care
- IV and Foley catheter removal
- Tracheostomy care and suctioning
Training Provided
- No experience required – we’ll train you
- Complete a 175-hour Mercy training program (meets state requirements)
- BLS certification required within 1 month of hire
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- CNA preferred but not required
- Students in healthcare career programs and current Mercy co-workers encouraged to apply
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
