About the Role:
Cantina is looking for a X/Social Writing Specialist to lead our short-form writing across X, LinkedIn, outdoor, and brand ad copy. You’ll define Cantina’s brand voices, sharpen our executives’ voices, and turn vague concepts and developing trends into sharp, high-performing content, working closely with the managing editor and executives.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead authorship for all short-form writing across X, LinkedIn, flagship outdoor and brand ad copy, and more.
- Define Cantina’s brand voices and sharpen our executives’ voices across company accounts, executive accounts, and the Labs + CTO recruiting brand.
- Work with the managing editor and executives to tease out thought leadership concepts and turn them into published writing.
- Learn and apply the latest algorithm strategies across platforms and formats.
- Lead execution of social amplification campaigns.
- Develop new content formats, recurring posts, and essay ideas.
- Analyze metrics to devise strategy improvements.
- Contribute to content calendar strategy and lead execution.
What You’ll Bring:
- Chronically online instincts and up-to-the-minute knowledge of the latest algorithmic meta.
- Strong comedic and persuasive creative writing skills, specifically for short-form.
- Ability to write well under extremely short deadlines.
- Skill at distilling vague concepts and developing trends into sharp content.
- A balance of creative intuition and a data-driven obsession with performance.
- A collaborative approach to fleshing out executives’ ideas and workshopping them until they’re publish-ready.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience developing voices and posting strategy for brand characters.
- Strategy and scripting experience for a new media property.
- X personality with a proven ability to write viral posts and build a following.
- Creative voice lead who delivered social performance for an edgier modern brand or thought leader.
- Short-form comedy writing or video production experience.
Compensation:
The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is between $160,000-$175,000. When determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered, including skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.
