Job Description

Medical Informatics Educator Connect Clinical Expertise with Technology. Empower Providers. Advance Healthcare.

Are you passionate about healthcare technology, education, and helping clinicians get the most from their electronic health record (EHR) tools? University Health is seeking a Medical Informatics Educator to support the education, adoption, and effective use of our Electronic Health Record and other regulatory initiatives across the physician and advanced practice provider (APP) community.

In this role, you’ll serve as a critical connection between clinical practice, information technology, and provider education —helping clinicians build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to navigate technology effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead education and adoption initiatives supporting effective use of the Electronic Health Record and other regulatory requirements.
  • Educate and engage physicians and advanced practice providers within the clinical environment.
  • Assess current knowledge, skills, and attitudes to identify key competency and learning opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively and independently to develop strategies that support successful technology adoption and sustained competency.
  • Gather feedback directly from clinicians to identify challenges, opportunities, and educational needs.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of educational materials, resources, and training programs.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical, user-friendly information for clinical audiences.
  • Build strong partnerships with end-users, department leaders, IT professionals, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement, effective communication, and exceptional user experience.
  • Prioritize and execute multiple initiatives effectively in a high-pressure clinical environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or an approved related field plus two years of professional-level experience , or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A combination of seven years of education, experience, and training may be substituted for the Master’s degree.
  • Clinical background and/or healthcare experience.
  • Strong interpersonal leadership abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with clinicians, department management, IT staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Exceptional listening, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines in a high-pressure setting.

Make an Impact This is an opportunity to help shape how clinicians engage with technology every day. Your expertise, communication, and ability to connect people with technology can directly influence provider efficiency, EHR adoption, regulatory compliance, and the overall clinical experience.

Join University Health and help transform technology into a powerful tool for better clinical practice and patient care.
