About the job

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial performance management for both plants, connecting P&L results to operational drivers, corrective actions, and accountable owners.
  • Own annual planning, critical forecasts, and monthly outlooks. Improve forecast accuracy and provide timely visibility into risks, opportunities, and performance throughout the month.
  • Partner directly with plant and operations leaders to improve labor productivity, scrap, warranty costs, and premium freight. Challenge assumptions and recommend practical actions to improve margins.
  • Lead manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation, and material, labor, and overhead variance analysis. Translate findings into decisions and follow through on results.
  • Guide capital investment and resource allocation decisions through financial analysis, including return on investment, net present value, and payback. Support plant profitability analysis and the division’s segmented P&L strategy.
  • Strengthen financial controls, reporting accuracy, and process discipline across both plants. Ensure compliance with ITW financial policies and serve as the primary external audit contact.
  • Lead and develop the US finance and accounting team. Set clear expectations, address performance gaps, build accountability, and prepare employees for greater responsibility.
  • Create clarity across finance and operations by establishing priorities, decision ownership, and escalation expectations. Simplify processes and advance ITW Toolbox initiatives, including 80/20.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least seven years of progressive finance experience in manufacturing, including prior Controller-level responsibility and direct ownership of plant P&Ls.
  • Automotive or similarly complex manufacturing experience.
  • Experience leading finance across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Strong expertise in standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis, with the ability to connect financial results to plant activity.
  • Proven results partnering with operations leaders to improve profitability, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Experience leading and developing finance teams, including developing managers or team leads, addressing performance concerns, and building succession capability.
  • Demonstrated business judgment that has influenced capital investment, cost reduction, capacity, or resource allocation decisions.
  • Strong financial planning, forecasting, internal controls, and audit experience.
  • Demonstrated success improving controls, reporting, or team effectiveness during organizational change or operational challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience in a publicly traded or private-equity-backed business, and exposure to continuous improvement practices.

Compensation Information: $130k-$180k base with short term incentives and a competitive benefits package.
