Location: 895 City Center Blvd, Suite 104 Newport News, Virginia, 23606
Hours: Hours could fall Monday-Friday - Two-10 hour shifts (can be variable to 16 hours one week, 24 hours the next) between 6:45am to 5:15pm Rotating Saturdays 730am to 4:00pm No holidays, evenings, Sunday's or call.
***This is for a 20 hours per week, that is a partially benefited position, it doesn't not qualify for Medical Benefits
Overview The Mammographer in a diagnostic center setting is responsible for performing mammography exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians. Performs all mammography exams and procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, and completes all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.
What you will do
- Completes mammographic imaging studies and presents them for diagnosis. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides clinical documentation per scope of practice.
- Performs with a high degree of safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of policies, procedures, protocols using safety behaviors. Responsible for the preparation of equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies required to support quality patient care. Follows ALARA principles according to policy.
- Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Reports variances.
- Coordinates patient care and performs effective assessment, actions, and documentation. Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
- Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoots and ensures equipment functionality. Detail oriented ability to multi-task organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Experience
- Mammography experience (Preferred) Candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply, though we welcome motivated individuals who are eager to learn and will provide training.
Licenses and Certifications
• Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiology (R) Upon Hire(Required) and
- Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiology (R) Upon Hire(Required) and
- Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Mammography (M) within 2 Years(Required) and
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
- Weekend Shifts
- Work/Float in more than one work location
