Job Description Job Title - Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit About the Department A 24-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) responsible for neurosurgical, neurotrauma and medical surgical patients with required proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring, recognition and treatment of acute patient deterioration, varied postoperative management. Qualified staff trained in Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), External Ventricular Drains (EVDs), Massive Transfusion Protocols (MTP), Malignant Hyperthermia Protocols, and Post-Cardiac Arrests. Henry Ford Providence Southfield is an accredited teaching institution; ICU is privileged to work with a multidisciplinary team and incorporate all specialties into our daily care, including Intensivists, Nurse Practitioners, Critical Care Fellows, Residents, Social Workers, Case Managers, Dietitians, Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
