ABOUT THE ROLE
We're building enterprise-grade AI, and we need a Senior Software Engineer to be the technical anchor of a growing team. You'll design and ship the agentic systems that make our product work at scale, set the engineering bar for everyone around you, and stay close enough to the research frontier to bring the best ideas into production. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants their work to define how the team builds.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build robust AI systems | Design and ship testable, production-grade agentic AI systems that hold up at enterprise scale
- Lead by example | Serve as the lead IC and technical standard-bearer for a growing backend AI team — through code, design reviews, and mentorship
- Push the state of the art | Research emerging techniques and translate them into practical, reliable engineering practices
- Design lean systems | Extend and evolve our services while keeping complexity low and the codebase maintainable
WHO YOU ARE
- Formal background in CS or a related technical discipline (MS a plus)
- 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience
- Deep expertise in Python and its ecosystem (FastAPI, Flask, or similar)
- Experience with agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar)
- A craftsperson who writes elegant, well-tested code — with or without AI assistance
- A strong systems designer with hands-on AWS experience
- Comfortable moving fast in ambiguous situations that require clear communication
- Excited to work in person at our NYC office 3+ days per week
The base salary range for this position is $190,000 to $210,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we also offer competitive equity and benefits packages.

COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY
Actual base pay will depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Adonis determines compensation based on each candidate’s experience and qualifications relative to peers, and most new hires fall near the middle of the range. In addition to base salary, you’ll receive meaningful equity and great benefits.
