ROLE OVERVIEW We are looking for an experienced Buying & Merchandising professional with strong knitwear knowledge who can drive product planning, vendor management, production timelines, and inventory execution. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end buying cycles, monitoring knitwear production, ensuring quality standards, and making sure the right products reach the shelf at the right time. This role requires strong ownership and the ability to work closely with sourcing, production, design, and accounts teams in a high-growth D2C apparel brand.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
- Lead end-to-end buying and merchandising operations for knitwear categories, from sourcing and product development to final delivery.
- Manage vendor relationships, production planning, buying requirements, and timely execution of orders.
- Oversee the creation, tracking, and closure of Purchase Orders (POs) in coordination with the accounts team.
- Drive OTIF (On Time In Full) PO fulfilment, ensuring accuracy in quantities, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor product costing, fabric consumption, cutting efficiency, and material utilisation to optimise costs.
- Track PO 1st Delivery TAT and D2S (Design to Shelf) timelines to ensure timely production and dispatches.
- Monitor OOS% and Sales Leakage Value through effective inventory planning and timely replenishment.
- Oversee in-line, mid-line, and PDI quality inspections at vendor locations, ensuring knitwear quality standards are met.
- Maintain vendor performance records, production updates, and quality reports to drive accountability.
- Support internal audits using Auditflo checklists and ensure process compliance.
- Collaborate with sourcing, production, design, and accounts teams to ensure smooth buying and merchandising operations.
- Drive process improvements across vendor performance, production efficiency, quality, and delivery timelines.
WHO YOU ARE
- 5-7 years of experience in buying, merchandising, apparel production, or vendor management.
- Degree in Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, Merchandising, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong coordination and vendor management abilities.
- Understanding of production timelines, apparel quality standards, and merchandising workflows.
- Proficient in Excel and comfortable with data tracking and reporting.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in resolving bottlenecks.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Curious to learn how products move from design to shelves and how buying impacts business.
