Postdoctoral Research Associate - Gottschalk lab

A postdoctoral research associate position is available with Dr. Gottschalk.

The Gottschalk Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and creative candidate for a fully supported postdoctoral fellowship to develop immune-based therapies. The postdoctoral fellow will join a collaborative research group that strives to build and maintain a culture of respect and collaboration. Likewise, the Gottschalk Laboratory cares deeply about the success and professional growth of its lab members. The research project is aimed to develop T-cell-based therapies for pediatric solid and brain tumors. Studies are focused on using genetic engineering approaches to not only render immune cells cancer specific, but also improve their effector function. Genetically modified immune cells will be studied in preclinical models with special emphasis on how adoptively transferred cells interact with tumor cells, the tumor microenvironment, and resident immune cells. Ultimate goal of these studies is to translate these approaches into early Phase clinical testing.

Minimum Education Requirements Successful applicants will have a strong publication record, excellent communication skills, and a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, genomics, immunology, or a related area. To succeed in this position, you will have a strong immunology and cell biology background, with an emphasis on cellular immunology, and genetic manipulation of mammalian cells. Applicants with experience in generating and evaluating human or murine immune cells, gene editing, single cell transcriptomics, flow cytometry, and murine solid tumor models are strongly encouraged to apply.
