Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations in Muskegon, Michigan. This position is ideal for someone who brings practical experience in payables, receivables, and transactional accounting within a high-volume environment. The selected candidate will help keep records current, resolve account issues, and contribute to accurate month-end activities while working across internal teams and external contacts.Responsibilities:• Manage invoice intake, verify supporting details, and coordinate timely payment processing for accounts payable transactions.• Record incoming payments, apply cash receipts accurately, and provide day-to-day support for accounts receivable functions.• Compare account activity against vendor and customer records to identify and correct discrepancies.• Investigate billing, invoice, and payment issues and follow through to resolution with the appropriate parties.• Maintain organized financial files and ensure accounting documentation is complete, accurate, and easy to retrieve.• Assist with closing tasks by preparing reconciliations and supporting the review of account balances.• Enter, update, and monitor accounting information within a large-scale enterprise software system.• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments to address questions related to account status and transaction details.
