Assistant Controller

We are looking for an accomplished Assistant Controller to strengthen the accounting and finance team for a Long-term Contract opportunity based in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will help oversee core financial operations, deliver accurate reporting, and support sound business decisions in a manufacturing setting. The position calls for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can balance technical accounting work with process discipline, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement.Responsibilities:• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycle to ensure timely completion and reliable financial results.• Oversee general ledger activity by reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and investigating variances or unusual balances.• Produce periodic financial statements and management reports that provide clear insight into business performance.• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities by analyzing trends, comparing results to plan, and explaining key variances.• Coordinate audit support for internal and external reviews by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to audit requests.• Maintain compliance with corporate accounting standards and reinforce strong internal control practices across finance processes.• Partner with operations and leadership to evaluate financial outcomes and recommend actions that improve efficiency and profitability.• Support accounting for inventory, fixed assets, accruals, and product-related costs within a manufacturing environment.• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement improvements that enhance accuracy and consistency.• Provide guidance to accounting team members and assist with year-end close and required regulatory reporting activities.
