Accounting Specialist

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support a client on a 3-month contract. This position is responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Accounting Specialist will work closely with the VP of Finance and alleviate a lot of the day-to-day accounting operation tasks. This opportunity is fully on-site. Accounting Specialist with exposure to General Ledger, nonprofit and/or public sector environments are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting specialist who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and demonstrates a strong commitment to accuracy, organization, and customer service.Responsibilities for the Accounting Specialist:Process accounts payable invoices and vendor payments.Support accounts receivable activities, invoicing, and collections tracking.Enter and maintain financial information within the accounting system.Review and reconcile account balances and supporting documentation.Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.Maintain organized accounting records and supporting files.Research and resolve discrepancies as needed.Prepare reports using Excel and other accounting software.Support audit requests and financial reporting activities.Collaborate with internal departments regarding accounting-related matters.Participate in process improvement initiatives and workflow enhancements.
