Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support a busy construction services organization. In this permanent role, you will partner closely with the Controller and contribute across core accounting operations, bringing strong technical knowledge and the flexibility to manage a broad range of financial activities. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing routine accounting ownership with cross-functional support in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Lead monthly and annual close activities, ensuring financial records are accurate, timely, and fully supported.• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger while maintaining strong documentation and audit readiness.• Complete account and bank reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.• Oversee sales and use tax filings across applicable jurisdictions in compliance with reporting deadlines.• Review accounts payable activity for accuracy, coding, and proper approval before final processing.• Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, billing follow-up, and cash application support.• Administer multi-state payroll for a mid-sized employee population, ensuring compliance and timely payroll execution.• Maintain fixed asset records, including capitalization, depreciation tracking, and related account reconciliation.• Use accounting systems and Excel-based reporting tools to analyze data and support ongoing financial operations.
