Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to support core financial operations for a manufacturing organization in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This long-term contract position focuses on maintaining accurate transactional records, resolving payment and billing issues, and helping ensure smooth coordination across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation activities. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and confidence working with financial systems and spreadsheets in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on schedule.• Prepare and review invoices, billing records, and payment documentation to maintain complete and reliable financial data.• Reconcile account balances and investigate variances by researching supporting records and correcting discrepancies as needed.• Examine deductions, promotional credits, and related claims to confirm proper application and resolve outstanding issues.• Support audit readiness by organizing financial documentation and validating the accuracy of accounting records.• Maintain vendor information and payment files, updating records to reflect current terms, statuses, and transactional details.• Use Excel and SAP HANA to analyze financial activity, track exceptions, and produce reports that support accounting operations.• Partner with internal teams and external contacts to address questions, resolve account issues, and improve the flow of financial information.
