Accounting Clerk

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a transport organization in Saint Louis, Missouri. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable handling a high volume of transactions, and confident working across both payables and receivables activities. The role requires strong accuracy, dependable follow-through, and the ability to manage accounting records efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Process incoming vendor invoices, review details for accuracy, and prepare payments in accordance with established timelines.• Maintain customer billing and cash application activities by recording incoming payments and following up on outstanding balances when needed.• Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high degree of precision to support accurate recordkeeping and reporting.• Use QuickBooks to update account information, track transactions, and assist with routine account reconciliation tasks.• Verify supporting documentation, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with internal contacts or external partners to clarify payment or billing issues.• Organize and maintain accounting files, transaction records, and related documentation to support audit readiness and operational efficiency.• Assist with invoice processing workflows and help ensure transactions are completed in alignment with company procedures.• Provide general accounting support for daily clerical and administrative finance activities as assigned.
