Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for a dependable Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client’s team in Saint Peters, Missouri on a Contract basis. This position supports day-to-day payables activities by reviewing invoices, organizing payment documentation, and helping maintain accurate accounting records. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment when handling financial information, and the ability to work effectively with both vendors and internal departments.Responsibilities:• Review incoming invoices and payment requests to confirm approvals, proper account allocation, and alignment with company guidelines.• Record and validate payable transactions in the accounting system while ensuring financial information is complete and accurate.• Maintain organized accounts payable files, reports, and supporting records for auditing and reporting purposes.• Work with vendors and internal staff to investigate billing issues, clarify discrepancies, and help facilitate on-time payment processing.• Prepare routine written communication related to payment status, invoice questions, and other accounts payable matters.• Support closing activities by assisting with accounting schedules, inventory-related reviews, and other year-end tasks as needed.• Follow established procedures, internal controls, and workplace standards in all assigned accounting activities.• Provide additional clerical and accounting support to the team based on business needs.
