This position is ideal for an individual with strong customer service, accounts receivable, and collections experience who enjoys working in a mission-driven environment.The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing outstanding balances, communicating with clients and funding sources, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting the organization's revenue cycle and cash flow operations.ResponsibilitiesMonitor accounts receivable aging reports and identify outstanding balancesContact clients, funding sources, and third-party payers regarding overdue accounts through phone, email, and written correspondenceInvestigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and account disputesMaintain detailed collection notes and account records within the billing systemProcess account adjustments, payment arrangements, and account reconciliations as appropriateCollaborate with accounting and program staff to resolve outstanding receivablesTrack collection activities and prepare aging and collections reports for managementResearch unapplied payments and resolve outstanding account issuesAssist with month-end accounts receivable reconciliationsEnsure collection efforts comply with organizational policies and applicable regulationsSupport special projects and administrative functions as needed
