About the job
Senior Service Quality Engineer (UPS / Critical Power)
Remote, US-based, working Eastern business hours. Eastern or Central time zone preferred. Onboarding and quarterly weeks in Miami, FL.
Position Overview:
EOLA Power services 3-phase UPS, battery, and power distribution systems for hospitals, data centers, theme parks, airports, stadiums, and federal sites across the country. The Senior Service Quality Engineer owns the technical standard behind that work: how each OEM platform is maintained over its life, how field findings are documented and reported to the customer, and how the field team gets expert backup when a fault does not match the manual.
This is a senior; non-field engineering seat built for a UPS engineer with 20 or more years of hands-on experience who wants to put that knowledge into a company's standards instead of carrying it in their head from site to site.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own the technical quality program for Field Service Reports: content standards, technical review and release authority, and escalation of deficiencies and safety findings.
• Build and maintain OEM platform maintenance standards by make and model: lifecycle component intervals (power modules, capacitors, fans, batteries), PM scope requirements, firmware and known-issue checklists, and end-of-life guidance. Example: power module replacement at 10 years on the Eaton 9170 family; capacitor and fan intervals on the 93PM; equivalent standards for Vertiv, Schneider, ABB, Mitsubishi, and Toshiba platforms.
• Build those standards into EOLA's service procedures, checklists, and report templates so a PM on a given platform is scoped, performed, and reported the same way at every site.
• Turn field findings into customer recommendations and quote opportunities, handed to Inside Sales with the technical case attached.
• Provide second-line technical support to Field Service Engineers and Operations during business hours; after-hours escalation backup only.
• Review after-hours support call records and turn recurring issues into training, procedures, and MOPs.
• Lead process improvement where service, operations, and sales hand work to each other.
• Deliver at least one technical training per quarter to the field team and support FSE candidate technical interviews.
Qualifications:
• 20+ years hands-on experience on 3-phase UPS systems, batteries, PDUs, and STSs across multiple OEMs, from legacy platforms (Powerware 9170, 9315, 9390, Liebert Series 600, Galaxy PW) to current (93PM, Galaxy VX, Liebert EXL S1, ABB TLE).
• Knows the lifecycle of those platforms: what fails, when, and what the PM should catch before it does.
• Has written and reviewed field service reports for years and knows what a weak one costs a customer and a company.
• Can diagnose a fault over the phone from a technician's description and readings.
• Strong written communication. The standards and reports you release carry our name.
• Comfortable working in a cloud-based field service platform and CRM.
• Must currently reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
• Able to work Eastern business hours, with reliable home internet. Eastern or Central time zone preferred.
• Able to travel to Miami, FL for one to two weeks at onboarding and one week per quarter, plus occasional site visits.
• OEM factory test or startup experience counts fully toward UPS experience.
Why Join EOLA Power?
We are building the independent critical power company this industry has needed for twenty years. Not an OEM that only services its own box. Not a roll-up that buys service companies and strips them. One company, 100% W2 engineers, every major platform, coast to coast, with the depth to tell a hospital or a data center the truth about their equipment.
We are on the Inc. 5000 two years running and certified Great Place to Work two years running. The next five years decide who the national leader in independent critical power service is. We intend to be it, and the standards you write in this seat are how we get there. Every PM this company performs, on every platform, in every state, will be scoped, executed, and reported the way you say it should be. Twenty years of your knowledge becomes the standard a whole industry gets measured against.
If you have spent your career watching companies, get this wrong, come build the one that gets it right.
