Forward Deployed Engineer

About the company Our client is a fast-growing software company. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take charge of hands-on technical rollouts for business customers, working directly inside their environments to get systems live and stable. The work blends configuration, debugging and close collaboration with customer and internal teams, and one of the two openings also includes growing and managing a team. What you'll do - Drive each customer rollout from first technical assessment through go-live and a clean transfer to the customer. - Set up and debug container orchestration, cloud and network infrastructure, access management, monitoring and capacity in customer environments. - Turn issues that keep coming up into reusable tooling, documentation and standard procedures. - Collaborate with customer technical, security, risk and operations contacts so projects keep moving. - Pass field learnings to product and engineering colleagues to help guide the platform direction. - For the leadership opening: establish the deployment function and lead it as headcount grows. Requirements What we're looking for - At least 2 years in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering or deployment engineering. - Real hands-on skill with Kubernetes and DevOps practices, including running production clusters yourself instead of relying only on a managed service. - Practical grounding in deploying LLM-based and agent-style applications for larger organizations. - Self-directed approach to carrying complex technical projects through with little supervision. - Ability to communicate clearly and earn trust with both infrastructure engineers and senior business leaders. - Based in New York or ready to relocate there for in-person work. - For the leadership opening: proven ability, or a convincing trajectory, in building and guiding a technical team. Bonus points - Prior work putting AI solutions into production within heavily regulated sectors. - Exposure to client-managed or on-premises environments. - Knowledge of networking, monitoring tools or handling live production incidents. - Experience with a public cloud provider and Helm for deployment automation.
