Product Software Engineer

About the company Our client is a consumer technology company. The role Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the delivery of user-facing features across web and mobile, from early prototype through launch and measurement. Collaborate with data, product and engineering colleagues to improve how people engage and return, with most of the effort on frontend work and occasional backend tasks. What you'll do - Build user-facing features and flows from start to finish for web and mobile using React, React Native and TypeScript. - Pick up work from a shared backlog and carry it through scoping, implementation, release and measurement with light process. - Partner with data, product growth and fellow engineers to spot friction in the user experience and lift retention. - Develop and improve core frontend architecture, and write backend code when the work calls for it. - Design and run A/B tests and experiments at scale, from forming a hypothesis to reading the results with analytics tools or SQL. - Use and build AI-driven tools to automate workflows and surface insights, turning analytics into shipped improvements across the user funnel. Requirements What we're looking for - Roughly two to four years as a software engineer shipping products used directly by consumers. - Hands-on work with React or React Native, with a heavy frontend emphasis. - Solid grounding in core computer science topics such as data structures, algorithms and efficient runtime behavior, along with sound system design instincts. - Background at top-tier, product-first technology companies or leading frontend startups. - Experience on consumer social products or a two-sided marketplace. - A computer science degree from a highly ranked university, or exceptional professional experience in its place. - Experience with product analytics and A/B testing, including funnels, cohorts and retention analysis. - A record of releasing features that improved activation, engagement and retention metrics. - Quick, clear communication in English and comfort acting as a product owner. - Ability to work on-site in the Bay Area, with no relocation support. Bonus points - Experience as a founding engineer at an early-stage startup or as a startup founder.
