About the job
Design fire fighting and plumbing systems for industrial and commercial buildings and turn those designs into accurate quantities and costs for our proposals. Responsibilities:
• Prepare fire fighting designs covering hydrants, sprinklers and fire pump rooms, in line with NBC requirements.
- Prepare fire fighting designs covering hydrants, sprinklers and fire pump rooms, in line with NBC requirements.
- Prepare plumbing and PHE designs covering water supply, drainage and pumping.
- Take off quantities from drawings and prepare BOQs.
- Build costing and rate analysis using material and labour rates, and support tender submissions.
- Clarify technical points with the sales team, consultants and clients.
- Hand over the design and costing basis to the project team when an order is won.
- 3–7 years in fire fighting and plumbing design, estimation or both.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and of NBC requirements for fire protection.
- Accurate BOQ take-off and rate analysis in MS Excel.
