Payroll Specialist Analyst

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established organization in Trussville, Alabama, to identify a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Specialist Analyst to join its team.This position will work closely with the Accounting, Payroll, and Human Resources departments, supporting payroll administration, workforce management, reporting, and system optimization.The ideal candidate will have hands-on UKG Pro (UltiPro) experience, strong analytical abilities, and a passion for payroll accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain UKG Pro (UltiPro) Payroll and Workforce Management systems.Support accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.Monitor and audit employee timecards, attendance records, leave balances, scheduling information, and payroll data.Identify, research, and resolve payroll discrepancies, timekeeping issues, and system-related errors.Assist with system configuration, including earnings, deductions, accruals, pay rules, and labor allocations.Analyze payroll, labor, attendance, and workforce data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.Develop and maintain payroll reports, workforce analytics, and management reporting.Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.Troubleshoot UKG system issues and assist with system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new functionality.Partner with HR, Benefits, Accounting, and Operations teams to resolve payroll and employee-related matters.Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding payroll, timekeeping, and workforce management processes.Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing, reconciliations, and audits.Maintain system security, user access permissions, workflows, and employee records.Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and wage and hour regulations.
