Job Description: As a Sushi Line Cook, you will help prepare fresh, high-quality sushi rolls to be sold in our store, as well as help customers with any made-to-order or special requests. You will work alongside experienced sushi chefs, learning traditional techniques and perfecting your craft in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare ingredients, including slicing fish, cutting vegetables, and making sushi rice
- Prepare sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other menu items to recipe and presentation standards
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen while following food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely preparation
Requirements:
- 1+ years of kitchen experience, preferably in a sushi or Japanese restaurant
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with sushi products
- Collective customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as a line cook
- Food preparation experience
